Show Me a Hero (2015)

A new HBO project, a 6-part political miniseries based on real events, Show Me a Hero tells the story of Nick Wasickso, who became mayor of Yonkers in 1987 during one of the most acute crises since a federal court has forced him to build social housing for the needy in predominantly middle-class neighborhoods of American society, dividing the community into a battlefield dominated by violence, all amid fear, racism, crime and politics. Show Me a Hero is based on the eponymous book by journalist Lisa Belkin published in 1999, the TV project being developed by the creator of The Wire, David Simon.
